About this PNG to JPG tool
PNG is perfect for screenshots and graphics, but PNG photos are often five to ten times larger than the same picture saved as JPG. Converting to JPG makes images faster to upload, quicker to load on websites and acceptable to forms that only take JPG.
JPG doesn't support transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white (or black, if you prefer). Choose the quality you want; 90% is visually identical for most images.

PNG vs JPG: which should I use?
PNG is lossless and supports transparency. It is best for logos, icons, screenshots and images with text. JPG uses lossy compression designed for photographs, producing much smaller files. Convert to JPG when file size matters and you don't need transparency. Need the opposite? Use JPG to PNG.
Frequently asked questions
Will converting PNG to JPG reduce quality?
JPG compression is lossy, but at 90% quality the difference is practically invisible for photos. Graphics with sharp text may show slight artefacts; keep those as PNG or use a higher quality.
What happens to transparent backgrounds?
JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent pixels are filled with the colour you choose: white or black.
Can I convert many PNG files at once?
Yes. Select or drop as many PNGs as you like and download them all as a ZIP.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no fixed limit. Very large images (over about 16 megapixels) are scaled down slightly so every browser can process them.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Everything happens on your device.
