About this Password Generator tool
Reusing the same password everywhere is the most common reason accounts get hacked. When one site leaks its database, attackers try that email and password on banks, email and social media.
This generator uses your browser's cryptographically secure random number generator, the same kind used for encryption. Passwords are created on your device and are never sent, stored or logged.

Frequently asked questions
How long should a password be?
At least 12 characters, and 16 or more for email, banking and work accounts. Length matters more than complexity.
Are the generated passwords stored anywhere?
No. They are generated in your browser and disappear when you close the page.
What is a passphrase?
A password made of several random words, like Maple-Rocket-Coffee-Island-42. It's easy to type and remember but very hard to guess.
Is a 4-digit PIN safe?
Only where the number of attempts is limited, like a bank card. Use 6 digits or more when you can.
