About this Split PDF tool

Sometimes you only need part of a PDF: one chapter of a report, a single invoice from a monthly statement, or the signed page of a contract. Split PDF shows a thumbnail of every page so you can see exactly what you are extracting, then creates new PDF files with the pages you chose.

You can split in four ways: every page into its own file, by custom ranges such as 1-3, 4-8, 9, every N pages, or by clicking the pages you want and saving them as one PDF.

How to use Split PDF

  1. Choose or drop the PDF you want to split.
  2. Pick a split method. To extract specific pages, simply click their thumbnails.
  3. Click Split PDF.
  4. Download a single PDF, or a ZIP file when several PDFs are created.

Features

Four split modes

Every page, custom ranges, every N pages, or selected pages into one file.

Visual page preview

Thumbnails let you check what is on each page before you split.

Original quality

Pages are copied without re-compression, so text stays selectable and sharp.

Nothing uploaded

Splitting runs on your device, so sensitive documents stay with you.

How to write page ranges

Separate ranges with commas. Each range becomes its own PDF file.

  • 1-3 creates one file with pages 1, 2 and 3.
  • 1-3, 4-6 creates two files.
  • 5 creates a file with only page 5.
  • 10- means page 10 to the last page.

Frequently asked questions

How do I extract a single page from a PDF?

Load the PDF, click the page you want (the method switches to “selected pages” automatically), then click Split PDF. You get a new PDF containing only that page.

Can I split a PDF into individual pages?

Yes. Choose “Every page into a separate PDF”. You will get one PDF per page, bundled in a ZIP file for easy download.

Does splitting reduce quality?

No. The pages are copied into the new files exactly as they are, without converting them to images.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The tool runs in your browser and your file never leaves your device.

Can I split a password-protected PDF?

Not directly. Remove the password in your PDF reader first, then split the unprotected copy.
