How to open HEIC photos on Windows and convert them to JPG
Since iOS 11, iPhones save photos as HEIC. The files are half the size of JPG, but Windows, older Android phones and many upload forms can't open them.

- Copy the photos to your computer.
- Open HEIC to JPG and select all the HEIC files at once.
- Download the JPGs, individually or together as a ZIP.

Avoid HEIC in future
- On the iPhone: Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible.
- When copying to a PC: Settings → Photos → Transfer to Mac or PC → Automatic. The iPhone then converts to JPG while copying.
