How to resize your photo for FPSC, PPSC and NTS online forms
Pakistani job and exam portals reject photos that are too big. A phone picture is usually 2–5 MB, while these forms ask for a small JPG, often under 30–100 KB. Here is how to get your photo accepted the first time.

Every portal sets its own limit, and they change from time to time. Read the upload instructions next to the photo box before you start. For example, FPSC's application guidelines say the picture must be less than 30 KB, in JPEG format only. PPSC, NTS, provincial boards and universities each publish their own size, so always follow the number shown on your form.
Step 1: take a good photo
- Stand in front of a plain white or light wall, facing a window for even light.
- Ask someone to take the photo at eye level. Look straight at the camera.
- Wear normal clothes and keep your face clear of hair, caps and dark glasses.
Step 2: crop to a passport-style frame
Open Passport Photo Maker, choose Pakistan passport / CNIC (35×45 mm), and fit your face in the oval. If the form asks for exact pixels, use Resize Image afterwards.
Step 3: compress to the KB limit
- Open Compress Image to KB.
- Choose your cropped photo.
- Type a number a little below the limit: 25 for a 30 KB rule, 45 for 50 KB.
- Download the JPG and upload it to the portal.
Signatures and documents
- Signature: sign with a black pen on white paper, photograph it, crop tightly, then compress it to the size the form asks for.
- Degrees, CNIC and domicile: if the portal wants a PDF, use JPG to PDF, then Compress PDF to get under its limit.
- iPhone photos (HEIC): convert them first with HEIC to JPG, because most portals only accept JPG.
Common upload errors
- "Invalid format": the file is PNG or HEIC. Convert it to JPG.
- "File too large": compress again with a lower KB number.
- Photo looks blurry: crop closer to your face first, then compress. A smaller, tightly framed picture stays sharper at low KB.
Everything above runs in your browser, so your CNIC, degrees and photos are never uploaded to our server.
